Are 'Slow-Drip' Snowden Leaks Just Conditioning Us to Accept Big Brother?

You know how the media likes to keep "shocking" us all with shocking new Snowden revelations every other week? Independent journalist Jon Rappoport put forth a really good theory on the mainstream media's continued slow-drip method of releasing Snowden leaks on NSA spying. Because come on — they're dragging this out longer than the credits for a Pirates of the Caribbean movie. Can it really all be chalked up to sensationalism and journalistic strategy?
Afraid not. Rappaport says it's a bit more purposeful than that: "It's all about keeping the NSA story alive, in order that people know they're being spied on 24/7. That's the social engineering aspect. That's the game."

Edward Snowden is becoming a big industry. From books and action figures to comics and movies, the business of capitalizing on Snowden's now-famous story is growing. Many of the whistleblower's supporters and fellow activists are concerned, however, that this may damage the credibility of the former National Security Agency contractor's work.

Edward Snowden was trained as a professional spy and actually worked undercover abroad for America’s biggest intelligence agencies, developing their IT security architecture, the whistleblower revealed in an exclusive interview to NBC News.
"- I was trained as a spy in sort of the traditional sense of the word, in that I lived and worked undercover, overseas — pretending to work in a job that I’m not — and even being assigned a name that was not mine,” Snowden told Brian Williams, anchor on NBC’s on Nightly Newsю
“So when they say I’m a low-level systems administrator, that I don’t know what I’m talking about, I’d say it’s somewhat misleading,” he said. [...]
“I developed sources and methods for keeping our information and people secure in the most hostile and dangerous environments around the world,” Snowden claimed.
It is believed that Snowden, now 30, used to work for the CIA, but then opted to leave the government to become a freelance intelligence contractor working for various NSA branches, in Japan, Hawaii and other locations.
At his last place of work he made a copy of up to 1.7 million secret US intelligence documents revealing the unprecedented scale of internet surveillance and other communications worldwide.

One of the evident patterns that emerges concerning the theater of operations known as “media” is the never-ending rabbit hole of trails and endless, conflicting details that don’t and won’t add up concerning a figure like Edward Snowden
The application of the military term “theater of operations” is especially relevant here, since we swim in a sea of media theater and infotainment. This is not by accident: The theater of infotainment itself is an important pillar of the Infowar.
With Edward Snowden, the recent star of the world media acting stage, the trails and legend(s) surrounding his back story are purposefully misleading.
Concerning this intentional labyrinth of false leads and bogus details, analyst Jon Rappoport comments:
