Ukraina: Arg folksamling slängde politiker bland soporna i skitig sopcontainer

Politician Dumped In Skip By Angry Crowd
A mob vents its fury against a member of Ukraine's parliament after a vote granted an amnesty to pro-Russia rebels.
An angry crowd has thrown a Ukrainian MP into a skip outside the country's parliament in Kiev.

A group of men were filmed shoving Vitaly Zhuravsky before grabbing him and dumping him head first into the bin filled with festering rubbish.

- As he tried to clamber out, the MP - still gripping his briefcase - was held down by his head as members of the screaming and swearing mob tossed a tyre on top of him.

Before Mr Zhuravsky could free himself, liquid from what looked like a drink can was poured over his head and a woman was heard shouting in Russian: "Boys, let me kick him at least one time."

Once a member of ousted President Viktor Yanukovych's Party of the Regions, the MP risked unpopularity in January when he authored a bill severely tightening restrictions on anti-government protesters.

Previously, he was behind a controversial bill criminalising libel, which was withdrawn amid widespread opposition.

The incident came after the Ukrainian parliament voted to ratify a major EU-Ukraine association

A group of protesters unhappy with the Ukrainian Rada gathered in Kiev on Tuesday, setting tires on fire and throwing a member of parliament into a dumpster. The unrest comes as the parliament passed legislation giving the restive eastern regions of Ukraine special semi-autonomous status, which many feel is an act of surrender to rebel fighters. RT’s Alexey Yaroshevsky takes a look at the footage and why the demonstrators were so angry.

VIDEO: Ukrainian Mob Throws Politician Into A Dumpster

Tom Ley reports:
An angry mob was waiting outside of Ukraine's parliament today, and they were not playing games. When they spotted Economic Development Party member Vitaly Zhuravsky leaving the building, they grabbed him and threw his ass right into a dumpster.

It's not clear exactly what Zhuravsky did to deserve getting himself thrown into a garbage receptacle, but as NBC News points out, it probably had something to do with the fact that he has a history of trying to pass bills that would crack down on anti-government protests.
