(videos+ fler mycket arga presidenter...)

Bolivian President Evo Morales will file a lawsuit against the US government for crimes against humanity. He has decried the US for its intimidation tactics and fear-mongering after the Venezuelan presidential jet was blocked from entering US airspace.

“I would like to announce that we are preparing a lawsuit against Barack Obama to condemn him for crimes against humanity,”
said President Morales at a press conference in the Bolivian city of Santa Cruz. He branded the US president as a “criminal” who violates international law.

In solidarity with Venezuela, Bolivia will begin preparing a lawsuit against the US head of state to be taken to the international court. Furthermore, Morales has called an emergency meeting of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) to discuss what has been condemned by Venezuela as “an act of intimidation by North American imperialism.” [...]

Bolivia's presidential jet was forced into landing in Vienna on Wednesday after several EU countries barred the plane from entering their airspace over suspicions that whistleblower Edward Snowden was potentially aboard.
Austrian authorities searched Morales' plane for Snowden, but found no stowaways on board, Austria's deputy chancellor has said. 'An act of aggression and violation of international law' is how Bolivia's UN envoy described Austria's decision to search the Bolivian presidential jet for NSA leaker.
Evo Morales finally flew out of Vienna after being detained for over 12 hours in the airport.

Digitally Offended: Brazil president cancels US visit over NSA scandal

***
Publicerad den 17 sep 2013
Brazil's president has called off her visit to the United States in response to Washington's refusal to take action against the NSA's surveillance practices. This comes after whistleblower Edward Snowden revealed that the Latin American nation is being spied on by American operatives with personal communications from ordinary citizens, and even President Dilma Rousseff herself, being intercepted. RT's Marina Portnaya has the story.

Democratic leaders from Mexico to Argentina are so resentful of American influence that they are now willing to take action. Spies did the trick.

America for the Americans - this is a cornerstone of United States’ foreign policy. That doctrine, introduced 190 years ago by President James Monroe, means this: foreigners keep out of the US’ backyard. For decades it [US foreign policy] also sat well with the elites in Latin America. They even promoted generals to dictators if the men in uniform loved Washington enough. Well, those days are long gone.

- Unlike Europeans, who complicitly give a wink and a nudge to the US in the mass surveillance scandal, Latin America is angry.

In a drastic move, Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff, a moderate, decided to call off a State visit to Washington. Leftists in the region are now more aggressive and right-wingers have been pressured to speak out. American experts may insist their focus is on Syria, but the backyard is rising in revolt. The National Security Agency (NSA) scandals have made it impossible for regional leaders to keep quiet without looking weak.

Brazil’s snub has the biggest implications. The decision was taken after Ms Rousseff discovered her personal communications were being spied on. Every South American leader called to support her, including Colombia’s Juan Manuel Santos, the only close ally Barack Obama has left in the region. She promised to attack mass surveillance at the United Nations. Boeing is now likely to lose a US$4 billion deal on fighter jets.[...]

Venezuelan officials warned of an alleged plot to assassinate the country’s President and launch a paramilitary invasion of the country. A former CIA agent, Cuban exiles living in the US and Latin American leaders were fingered in the conspiracy

President Nicolas Maduro, who succeeded Hugo Chavez, first alleged that his enemies want him dead while on the campaign trail in April.

The suspected plot to overthrow the government in Caracas was allegedly funded by Cuban exiles living in Miami, the head of the Venezuela’s parliament Diosdado Cabello told legislators on Wednesday. They raised some $2.5 million and recruited about 400 mercenaries, who would enter Venezuela’s Zulia state from Columbia as part of the plan.

He pointed to former Colombian President Alvaro Uribe and former CIA agent Luis Posada Carriles, who lives in the US, as those among the organizers of the plot. Venezuela and Cuba want Carriles for carrying out anti-communist terrorist attacks, including the 1976 bombing of a Cuban airliner that killed 73 people and the bombing of several hotels in Cuba in 1997, in which one tourist died.

Venezuelan Interior Minister Miguel Rodriguez Torres gave additional information on the alleged plot to TeleSUR television. He claimed the plan of the so-called Operation Baby was to have a sniper kill Maduro on July 24. The assassination would be a signal for militant attacks on military and political targets in the country, he said.

He further accused Venezuelan right-wing forces, former Honduran President Roberto Micheletti and a Miami-based real estate businessman Eduardo Macaya of involvement in the alleged conspiracy.
Maduro and his allies earlier highlighted mercenaries in El Salvador and Columbia as potential threats and named Uribe and former US diplomats Roger Noriega and Otto Reich as individuals hatching plots against Venezuela.

Acting Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro believes there is a US plot to assassinate him during his election campaign. He called on his followers to be “vigilant” and warned conspirators want to prevent his victory in next week’s election.

Presidential candidate Maduro pointed the finger at the former US Ambassador to Venezuela Otto Reich and the ex-ambassador to the Organization of American States, Roger Noriega, outing them as the driving force behind the conspiracy.

“Their goal is to kill me,”
said Maduro on Saturday during an electoral campaign speech in the northern state of Bolivar. He called on his supporters to be on maximum alert, warning that the object of the plot was to increase the homicide rate in cities across Venezuela and cause a blackout ahead of the elections.

“Roger Noriega and Otto Reich are involved, as well as the Salvadorian far right that has contracted hit men,”
announced Maduro during his speech. He stressed that they wanted him dead because “they know they cannot beat me in fair elections.”[...]
